Blum's ‘Dynamic Space’ Launching on ArtiCAD
Leading CAD software specialist for the KBB sector, ArtiCAD, is working in partnership with internationally-renowned fittings manufacturer, Blum, to enable the thousands of worldwide ArtiCAD-Pro users to access Blum’s ‘Dynamic Space’ kitchen zoning concept. Collaboration between the two companies will enable designers to quickly and easily specify Blum’s ORGA-LINE products as part of their design, whilst at the same time ensuring that the design reflects Blum’s ‘Dynamic Space’ zones. This concept allows kitchens to be fully customised to suit individual needs and lifestyles, resulting in more comfort, functionality and enjoyment of the new room.
Blum’s ORGA-LINE products are systems for internal organisation of drawers, pull-outs and cabinets that maximise the area and volume for greater storage capacity. They include innovative products like expanding plate holders, knife and spice racks, and foil and film dispenser/cutters.
Blum’s Matthew Walmsley explains that using ORGA-LINE in the context of Dynamic Space can achieve up to 55% greater storage in the modern kitchen: “Dynamic Space was developed by Blum to create the most ergonomic kitchen for each individual user by creating functional units based on the five main zones of normal kitchen activity. We look at each cabinet or unit as having a particular function much in the same way as a particular appliance would be selected. So, for instance, units under and around the sink area would be devoted to storage of cleaning products and waste disposal, pan drawers and utensil storage would be close to the hob and oven etc.”
Based on the joint development, ArtiCAD-Pro users can simply click on the button for the ORGA-LINE storage systems whilst working on their design. The process is made even simpler because ArtiCAD and Blum have ensured that only those storage solution products which are relevant to the chosen cabinet are presented to the designer. Images and video clips of the ORGA-LINE products can also be selected by the designer for their own use or as part of their presentation to their customers, and as an enticing new sales aid.
Richard Turner, director, ArtiCAD Limited: “Our collaboration with Blum is an extremely important and very exciting new development for ArtiCAD users. Nowadays, there is increasing emphasis on ensuring that kitchens are designed to meet the very individual and specific needs of different customers. Blum’s Dynamic Space is a great way to help designers achieve this each and every time for their clients – as part of their everyday use of ArtiCAD-Pro.”
The collaboration between the two companies will not only help designers sell their work, but will also make it easier for retailers to adopt Blum’s Dynamic Space concept to optimise their kitchen designs and storage options. For manufacturers, it will be easier to receive and process orders. For installers, the level of detail relating to a design will ensure the placement of cabinets is absolutely clear.
